Israeli Art - Class of 2008

jobnet promotes israeli art in cooperation with lotan images

as a website that promotes employment, we feel inclined to encourage israeli artists to continue engaging in art.
art is related to aesthetics and aesthetics is an important need for every individual in day-to-day life. based on this policy jobnet will provide a space for israeli artists to exhibit their works, thereby exposing them to tens of thousands of web users.
in doing so jobnet contributes its public influence in matters of culture as well.

final projects by graduates in the sculpture program at the basis school

the final project at the basis school of sculpture is an annual project in which the student goes through all the stages of thinking, research, planning, execution and positioning of the sculpture. this yearlong effort prepares the student for independent art activity upon completing his or her studies.
the final project is, of course, a summation of four years of study, but its significance is far more. the project is a self-declaration, an act of confronting the fear associated with leaving the nest. it’s a mute display of prior separations and longings. the primary demand made of the student is sincerity. other demands are working properly with clay and diving into the adventure, i.e. dealing with in-depth research or a project on a scope the student has yet to tackle. the result may be a single sculpture or a group of sculptures.
the result may also be self-expression and innovativeness. the projects are accompanied by watercolor sketches used in the presentation of the work. besides displaying the sculpture the students creates a new type of writing to suit the sculpture he created. in the age of computer illustrations the school chooses to rely on the artist’s progressiveness and newness. participating artists: sonia balaban, dan vaspi, ofra hadad, rosie kariti.
