What was important to you in looking for your new job?
“I looked for a position that would fit in with my last year of college studies toward a degree in business administration, specializing in marketing. I wanted to get hired at a place that stresses advancement and human capital development, that tries to accommodate its employees and treats them warmly. I was also looking for a challenging job in the field of sales, with a dynamic, young and high-caliber working environment.”
What do you like most of all about the field of sales?
“Sales is a dynamic, challenging field that forces you to meet goals and cope with pressure. Due to the job experience I’ve acquired over the years in sales as well as my academic studies in the field of marketing, I decided to continue specializing in sales.”
Which considerations did you take into account when sending out your resume?
“The positions I was looking for revolved around areas of sales, customer service and training. Most of my considerations had to do with flexible work arrangement, to enable me to pursue my studies properly and earn enough money to allow me to get by as a student and pay my tuition fees in a dignified fashion. I sent out resumes on the Jobnet site, and after several interviews at various companies I decided to start working at Taurus.”
Why did you wind up choosing Taurus?
“I got a strong response from various companies, but since I was a student I found it hard to locate a position that would allow me to work in my academic studies. Unlike the other companies Taurus offered me individualized attention, flexible working hours, understanding and support throughout the hiring process, as well as work in a dynamic and young atmosphere along with a high salary. The contents the company deals with also appealed to me – international Internet operations in marketing and sales.”
How did your first few days at the company go?
“I was taken in with open arms at Taurus, including a warm reception by the employees and managers. During my first few days I was mentored and received close, professional guidance by veteran sales representatives and the woman who was serving as manager of the phone center at the time. I found it to be a company that recognizes the importance of having the worker rub elbows with the customer, and therefore it invests extensive resources in its employees. The warmth and closeness of the staff led me to realize I’d made the right choice in deciding to work at the company.”
What challenges do you face as manager of the company’s sales team?
“I now serve as the top direct supervisor of a sales team made up of 15 representatives. I provide professional oversight during the course of the shift and guide my sales representatives during the course of the conversations and during the shift in order to improve their sales capabilities. I’m also in charge of the managerial aspects related to the staff, such as raising morale, conducted one-on-one talks and listening, helping and supporting the workers in various ways.”
How would you describe Taurus in terms of the atmosphere and character of the company?
“The sales center at Taurus is dynamic with a young and animated atmosphere prevailing in the day-to-day routine. Taurus is like a home away from home for me, and the way I’m treated by my supervisors provides me added value and makes me come in to work wearing a smile. Also, Taurus is developing from day to day and making changing to meet the needs of the customers and employees. It’s attentive and alert to what takes place in the sales center and is constantly streamlining the work process.”
Would you describe your match with Taurus as a success?
“Most definitely. I come in to the office with a smile because my satisfaction does not start and end with my pay slip, but extends to the warm interaction and the social environment in which I’m situated. Also, the job of managing a sales team has a lot of importance to the company, and I’m able to have a noticeable impact on processes and grow professionally and as an individual.”
Do you have any advice for jobseekers?
“My advice to online job hunters is to look for challenging work that offers the possibility of advancement. If you find a position that meets this description, stick with the job, be open-minded to professional help, prove your abilities by showing high dedication and a drive to succeed and then you’ll really be able to go places.”
