Marina Wilpan, 22, has always wanted to work in civil law and commercial law. As a budding student and a mother of a three-year-old girl, she was looking for a flexible, accommodating workplace that allows employees to pursue academic studies. “After six months I decided to leave the teleprocessing company where I was working, and in March I sent out resumes through various job-search sites. A short time later I found my job as a phone collections representative at Chen, Fisher Law Offices through the Jobnet site. I’ve now been working at Chen, Fisher for over six months.”
Founded in 1990, the Chen, Fisher Law Office provides a range of professional services in the fields of commercial and civil law. The firm, located in Netanya and occupying four floors, employs 15 attorneys assisted by over 100 clerks, collection representatives and interns.

Why did you decide to leave your former job after six months?
I reached a final decision to leave my previous job because the way the employees were treated changed. I felt I was no longer receiving the treatment and the rights I deserved as a staff member. I looked for an interesting, challenging and dynamic job at a stable company that places its workers at the center.
Where did you send your resume to?
At first I submitted my resume to personnel companies. But after about a week of unappealing job offers I decided to focus on job-search sites.
Which considerations did you take into account in looking for a new job?
First, law has always interested me. Second, I was looking for a job that offered interaction with people and an opportunity to provide service in an area I really like at a location near my home. It was also important to me to get hired at a place with a flexible work schedule to allow me to attend classes and work during the day, because I have a three-year-old daughter at home.
What made you decide in favor of Chen, Fisher?
I sent my resume out through a lot of websites and companies. After just one day, to my surprise I got a phone call from Chen, Fisher Law Offices inviting me in for a job interview. I felt the interview went well, the conversation with the office manager flowed and the job really appealed to me.
How did your first days at the company go?
During the first week I studied a new program and tried to get used to the new workplace as quickly as possible and as well as I could. Within my first few days I got a good impression of the courteous way the entire office staff conducts itself. They lent me professional support and guidance and were there with me all the time.
How is the work of collections representative conducted?
The collections process is dynamic and fascinating because it presents the workers with many challenges. In my work as collections representative for the client, Derech Eretz, I create ties with the defaulters, explain the elements of the debt to them and the advantages of closing the file. I also report to the client constantly regarding my communication with the defaulter and the outstanding payment, providing in-depth details. I work with lawyers and assist defaulters reach an arrangement to keep them from having to face legal proceedings.
What kind of a company is Chen, Fisher in terms of the character and atmosphere there?
Chen, Fisher is a company that teaches me a lot and is very professional in dealing with me, while treating me as an individual. The atmosphere at the office – especially in the phone center – is pleasant and the workers are united. Our office has a range of employees from every stratum and an abundance of jobs, from couriers, secretaries and clerks to lawyers and managers. It’s a professional, well-organized company with principles and values, and serves as a home-away-from-home for its employees.
Do you see yourself developing at the company and advancing over time?
Since coming to the company I’ve gained a lot of experience and I’ve expanded my professional knowledge in a range of interesting areas. I’ve advanced during the very short time I’ve been at Chen, Fisher, unlike at previous jobs. I feel like I’m fulfilling myself, which gives me a lot of satisfaction. My match with Chen, Fisher has definitely been a big success. I love the job and I’ve made a lot of real friends. As proof of how pleased I am with the company, two of my good friends have started working here based on my recommendation.

Jobnet enables us to bring in quality workers who fit the job profile perfectly and provide us services at a high level.
