Success Story - Ria Gilboa and Ella Pariente, Secretary and Sales & Business Development Administrator, ACS Ltd.

ria and ella found their jobs at acs through the jobnet site.

at the beginning of november, ria began working as a company secretary for acs and two months ago ella took charge of sales and business development.

ria:
“before i came here i worked as a travel coordinator at telrad. following a massive layoff i looked for work in a slightly different direction, using my added value – command of many languages.”

ria was born in england and lived in holland for many years. she moved to israel 27 years ago and today she is fluent in hebrew, english, german and dutch.

ella:
“before i came to acs i worked at a software house as a sales manager. i was in charge of sales operations in three european markets. i worked there for almost four years and then i decided to look around for opportunities to engage in more interesting work and take on more responsibility. i wanted to expand my field of work.”

on the search process:
ria:
“when i realized what was going to happen at telrad i started looking for work. i decided to look in fields other than what i had been doing until then and to include in my search administration, office manager and assistant to ceo."

“i had been familiar with jobnet for years. every time i went looking for work i used jobnet. and whenever people ask me i always refer them to jobnet. it’s a very good, user-friendly site with broad search capabilities – word search, company search, job search – and of course the site offers a wide range of jobs.”

ella: “when i decided to start the search process i visited jobnet, which is an excellent website. it provides a breakdown according to the type of job, geographic location and profession. on one hand it helps you focus and on the other hand, for those who know what they want, the site provides a very broad range of positions. searching by company and the ability to see what each company is offering is very important and useful."

“i looked for a job in the area of sales, marketing and business development and i sent my resume out via jobnet. my resume reached the marketing director of acs and from there the process was quite short. after several meetings with the ceo and the director of marketing we reached the closing stage. i told my previous employer i was leaving and a month later i began working here.”

ria: “i worked at my old company until the end of september and by the beginning of november i had already started working at acs. the process was short and fast. during the two months of my search i was called in for interviews at many companies. eventually, via jobnet, i came in for an interview with the director and the operating manager. four days later i started working.”

acs is part of the amt group. the company was founded in 1999 and today has ten employees. the offices are located in even yehuda. acs develops various product protection technologies using magnetic fibers.

on their respective jobs at acs:
ella: “at acs i’m in charge of electronic article surveillance (eas), which includes all of the anti-shoplifting products. acs has a range of product protection devices under development. as part of my job i am responsible for customer relations, i.e. maintaining ties with existing customers. i also deal with business development, which entails looking for additional business opportunities to expand company activity. i’m still in the learning stages. i’m getting familiar with the customers and the market and i’m learning about the product and its untapped potential.”

ria: “my job title is secretary, but i’m also involved in other areas in the company and the entire group. i’m the ceo’s secretary and the assistant to the operations manager. i write guidelines, help with marcom and public relations, assist in writing documents in english for other companies in the group and more.”

recently, at her request, acs sent ria to take a marcom course.

on work at acs:
ella:
“it’s a very small company with a warm, family feel. the people are on very good terms. it’s really pleasant here. and my work is really interesting. i’m learning a new field, a new market. i have a lot to learn and plenty of room to develop. learning on the job is very important to me.”

ria: “my work is really varied and interesting. the people here are very nice. it’s a small, homey company. it’s very different from the atmosphere at high-tech companies. i’m really happy here.”
