tal recalls:
"i found my first professional job through jobnet, working as an economist at interpharm for three years. after three years the company folded and then i found work as an economist at applied materials. i worked there for a year, replacing someone on maternity leave. the task was very interesting, but i wasn't part of the staff, so after a year my job was over and i began looking for another job. i decided i wanted to head in a new direction. my previous two jobs had very similar and i had outgrown my previous post. i was looking for a challenging position that would help me develop. a place where i would feel i could contribute more."

avi recounts:
"before i came to eds i worked for comsec for seven years. for two and a half of those years i worked at publicom, and for another four and a half years i worked for comsec at cellcom. at publicom i worked as an infrastructures, communications and installations integrator for systems related to information security. at cellcom i worked as an information security consultant. at a certain stage i felt spent and i wanted a change of environment."

on the search process:
avi: "i did my search through friends and on internet sites. in the end most of my search was conducted on the web. after notifying cellcom i planned to leave i started looking around. the process was not very intensive and lasted about two months. i was familiar with jobnet through friends, and via the site i sent resumes to several companies. i looked for a job in the field of communications and information security. it was important to me to work at a large firm since i had always worked at big companies. bigger companies have bigger budgets, so the technology is generally more developed and it's more challenging. eds was among the large companies advertising a position in my field and it fit my abilities. following a phone interview i came in for a meeting at the eds offices and met with the manager of my area of expertise at comverse."

tal: "the search process went very quickly. i looked mostly on jobnet and applied at several placement companies. i've known about jobnet for six years and every time i looked for work i always start off there. it's a very convenient website, both because of the search structure and because resumes can be sent directly to the companies. i think it's excellent. i searched the site according to keywords and names of companies. i didn't send out a lot of resumes because i was very selective. i knew i wanted to find a job in the field of information systems, especially oracle. that was what i had in mind and when i saw the eds ad on jobnet, i got really excited."

eds is considered the world leader in the field of it services. founded in the us in 1962, today the company operates in 60 countries and has 140,000 employees. eds israel was founded in 1995 and has 1,000 employees. eds specializes in management consulting, technological consulting, developing information systems and projects and outsourcing in the field of it management and computer infrastructures at organizations.

on working at eds:
tal: "i work at eds as an oracle implementer. my job includes system assimilations and changes. i provide support for financial users who work with the existing system, helping them with whatever they need. another aspect of the job is applications – making the system fit the customer's needs. this aspect includes analyzing the customer's needs and characterizing them. since i worked with oracle applications in the past as a user, it's easier for me to understand the customer's needs."

avi: "i work for eds as an information security expert at comverse. i work on a staff of eight people, all of whom are eds converse employees. the staff manages the entire communications and information security system at the level of integration, operating the systems, repairing glitches, installation and coordination of new systems in accordance with the customer's demands. the job essentially entails providing a solution for managing communications and information security systems at comverse."

on working as part of an outsourcing staff:
avi: "there are 80 eds employees working at comverse. we sit together, we have separate company activities with eds workers and in general they make a point of giving us a feeling of belonging to eds. we turn to eds for all matters. occasionally we participate in comverse activities, too, so sometimes we can enjoy the best of both worlds. i travel from haifa to tel aviv every day. if the job weren't so enjoyable and challenging i wouldn't be making the commute. not only is the work interesting, but the people on the staff are really nice and the whole department is very supportive."

tal: "we eds employees have a separate department at eci where we sit together. there are 160 workers employed at eci and in our department there's a real eds spirit. i work directly with my manager at eds and with the customer's project managers, in this case eci. all of our activity is overseen by eds. we function as a company within a company, at a facility that is exclusively ours. eds has company activities, for both the entire company and for the eds workers at eci. there is cooperation and a positive atmosphere within the staffs. i love my work. i have a very interesting, varied job that is challenging and enjoyable."
