Ophir Zeitoun, 28, found his job at GoNet Software Solutions through the Jobnet site.
A graduate of the software engineering program at Ort Braude College of Engineering in Carmiel, Ophir is employed by GoNet as a .NET consultant at a military facility in Central Israel as part of the company's outsourcing services.
"While I was still in college I worked at RAFAEL as a programmer, and when I graduated I worked for six months at SRS as a .NET programmer. Afterwards I traveled to the East for a three-month trip and when I came back I began looking for work."
On the job-search process:
"I tried my luck in almost every direction, sending out my resume to as many places as possible, via Internet sites and placement companies. Jobnet was one of the sites I searched through. I did keyword searches – applications development .NET – and within two months I found a job at GoNet.
"During the period of my job search I went to four or five interviews at various companies. The process at the other companies was long and complicated, whereas GoNet was the most decisive, efficient and quick."
Ophir Zeitoun, .NET consultant at GoNet Software Solutions
About the company:
GoNet Software Solutions was founded in 2000, and in 2003 acquired the activity of Kalanit-Carmon. GoNet is a leading high-tech company in the field of customer-tailored project development and implemented product development at large Israeli organizations. The company has vast experience developing decentralized financial information systems and systems such as Internet, extranet and customer servers, and assimilating the information at the client site. The company is privately owned and employs software people, project managers, systems analysts, programmers, etc., involved in providing advanced computer solutions.
On working through GoNet:
"At first I was employed part-time and later the job became fulltime. I now work alone, with the help of a consultant who comes once a week. When I receive tasks I plan and execute them from the idea stage through the implementation stage. My job includes training young developers. I present workshops and deliver lectures. I'm pleased with the job. There are significant advantages to working in a military environment, particularly in terms of work hours. The organization is much more highly organized than a civilian company. I live in Acco and commute more than two hours each way. I'm glad to be here. The work is interesting and the hours are convenient."
On outsourcing work:
"GoNet is the place for me. They take good care of me and I turn to them with any problems that arise. There are another four or five GoNet workers at the same facility where I'm employed. During the six months since I began working at GoNet there have been two company events, so I've had an opportunity to meet other people from the company."
