a graduate of the software engineering program at ort braude college of engineering in carmiel, ophir is employed by gonet as a .net consultant at a military facility in central israel as part of the company's outsourcing services.

recalls ophir:
"while i was still in college i worked at rafael as a programmer, and when i graduated i worked for six months at srs as a .net programmer. afterwards i traveled to the east for a three-month trip and when i came back i began looking for work."

on the job-search process:
"i tried my luck in almost every direction, sending out my resume to as many places as possible, via internet sites and placement companies. jobnet was one of the sites i searched through. i did keyword searches – applications development .net – and within two months i found a job at gonet.
"during the period of my job search i went to four or five interviews at various companies. the process at the other companies was long and complicated, whereas gonet was the most decisive, efficient and quick."

"at first i was employed part-time and later the job became fulltime. i now work alone, with the help of a consultant who comes once a week. when i receive tasks i plan and execute them from the idea stage through the implementation stage. my job includes training young developers. i present workshops and deliver lectures. i'm pleased with the job. there are significant advantages to working in a military environment, particularly in terms of work hours. the organization is much more highly organized than a civilian company. i live in acco and commute more than two hours each way. i'm glad to be here. the work is interesting and the hours are convenient."

on outsourcing work:
"gonet is the place for me. they take good care of me and i turn to them with any problems that arise. there are another four or five gonet workers at the same facility where i'm employed. during the six months since i began working at gonet there have been two company events, so i've had an opportunity to meet other people from the company."
