Success Story – Miri Moiel-Churi, Netanel Giat and Liran Shukrun, Policies Producers, Clal Insurance

miri, netanel and liran searched for work and found jobs at clal insurance through the jobnet site.

miri, 27, recalls: “i came here following a job at a phone center for a pension fund. i worked there for two and a half years and when they expanded and moved to a larger center, it was no longer the right place for me and i started looking for another job.”

netanel, 27, recalls: “i studied economics and political science at bar ilan and when i finished my degree last september i started looking for a job. while i was in college i held various student jobs – customer service and jobs at various phone centers.”

liran, 30, recalls: “i finished a degree in middle east studies at bar ilan last september. during my studies i worked student jobs and while i was still working i looked for a better position.”

on the job-search process:
miri: “i carried out the search process primarily on the internet. i checked out a lot of websites, most of which required signing in and paying a fee, and i’d like to note that jobnet has the advantage of being both free for job-hunters and intelligently constructed. it offers an enormous number of positions that are constantly updated, and allows various types of searches. i did most of my job-hunting through jobnet. i’ve been familiar with the site for years, from various periods of looking for work. the search i conducted was for a position in the insurance industry.”
netanel: “i looked for a job in the field of economics and logistics, but i couldn’t find work in that area. i looked in newspapers, on internet sites and through personnel companies, but all of the jobs i was offered failed to meet my salary expectations.
i got to know the jobnet site through a friend who recommended it to me and i started searching through it. i think jobnet is an excellent site with a large number of offerings. the fact that it’s free and does not require signing in is also a big plus.
i searched for back office work, which eventually led me to clal insurance. i saw the job openings clal advertised and one of them appealed to me. i sent in my resume and got hired. the job-search process lasted about four weeks.”

following the hiring process at clal insurance, miri, netanel and liran took a six-week course on life insurance.

on the course:
liran: “it was a very intensive course. what i didn’t do in three years at the university i did in a month and a half here. the course began in december and ended in the middle of january. we’ve been working ever since then.”

on their job at clal insurance:
liran: “the three of us work together in the operations and administration department. in practice we’re involved in issuing policies.
“we work behind the scenes. we’re the ones who forge the link between the insurance company and the customer. the insurance agent is the one who does the sale of the policy, but we’re the ones who do the actual work.”
netanel: “it’s enriching and interesting work. you get exposed to all kinds of fields. the company thoroughly checks out the policyholder before insuring him. part of our work involves gathering relevant data and doing the initial customer screening.”

on working at clal insurance:
liran: “clal is an excellent place that offers room for development. the company is built on a promotion track, which eventually leads to working directly with the insurance agent as a professional with full mastery of the material. the starting point is the operations and administration unit. from there you advance to various fields. every time you specialize in a different field until eventually you’re conversant in every field.”
netanel: “it’s very apparent that the company invests in its employees and wants to promote them. we completed the course just a short time ago and we’ve already undergone several training sessions.”
miri: “here emphasis is placed on professionalism. personally i’m very glad to be working here. we have a fantastic staff head. you can talk to him about everything, ask him questions and seek his advice.”

netanel: “there are 13 of us on the staff. the manpower setup is not expected to change, which means at the end of the present course a staff of new people will join us and we’ll become the veterans on the staff. we’ll be the ones they turn to and our area of responsibility will expand. that’s really quick advancement.”
liran: “we aim to get promoted here. there’s a whole lot to know and learn. what we learned in the course is just a drop in the bucket. every day we learn new things here.”

on the atmosphere at the company:
netanel: “the atmosphere here is excellent, the people are great. there’s a real feeling of family.”
liran: “i have only good things to say. the atmosphere here is great. we’re friends and it’s as if we’ve known one another for years. there’s real unity here.”
miri: “it’s very pleasant here, both in terms of the people and the work environment, and in terms of the professional help and support. i always have somebody to turn to. the more veteran employees are always willing to help.”
